AUBURN, Ala. – Doing some heavy-lifting in the classroom over the course of the fall, the Tigers of Auburn track & field posted 16 perfect 4.0 GPAs to wrap up the semester on a high note.

The Auburn women earned a 3.30 cumulative GPA with perfect 4.0s from seven student-athletes in total. Those earning perfect academic marks were seniors GiGi Maddox, Madi Malone, Louisa McPherson and Hannah Tarwater, juniors Jocelynn Budwig and Sara Pacer and sophomore Allison Tanner.

The men's squad posted a 3.20 team GPA with unblemished semesters from senior Jackson Thomas, juniors Matthew Asplund, Kyle Brown and Stone Shelnutt, sophomores Carson Bedics, Dustyn Lewis and Ryan Kinnane and freshmen Ethan Richter and Luke Roberts.

Brown was also the recipient of the Dr. Pepper Go Teach Leadership Award. The award is sponsored by Dr. Pepper and the College Football Playoffs and recognizes leadership and academic achievement of student-athletes in teacher education majors.

Former Tiger, Jack Rogers, also took home an honor for his hard work in the classroom as he became the one of the first student-athletes to be recognized with the PNC Achiever Award in Auburn's first year partnering with PNC Banks to honor those that display leadership in both academic and athletic settings.

The Tigers look to pick up where they left off as they are set to kickstart the spring semester and indoor track season with their first team meet, the Vanderbilt Invitational, Jan. 14-15, 2022, in Nashville, Tennessee.
