Roger McCreary - First Team All-SEC defensive back

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn defensive back Roger McCreary earned First Team All-SEC honors while defensive lineman Derick Hall and linebacker Zakoby McClain were named to the Second Team by the league's coaches, the Southeastern Conference announced Tuesday.

McCreary, a senior from Mobile, leads the SEC and ranks No. 8 nationally with 1.3 passes defended per game. The Bednarik Award semifinalist has made two interceptions and broken up 14 passes in 2021.

McCreary ranks second in program history with 38 career passes broken up. His 14 PBUs this season are tied for second in Auburn single-season history, one behind Chris Davis in 2013.

A junior from Gulfport, Mississippi, Hall leads Auburn with nine sacks and 12 tackles for loss in 2021.  He recorded three sacks in the Iron Bowl. Hall also forced two fumbles this season while logging 53 tackles.

McClain, the nation's leading tackler last season, has led Auburn in tackles 14 times in his career. With 96 tackles this season, he needs four more to become the first Auburn defender since Takeo Spikes in 1996-97 to record back-to-back 100-tackle seasons.

The senior from Valdosta, Georgia, has tallied 13 career games with double-digit tackles, including five this season. McClain earned SEC defensive player of the week honors in Auburn's 31-20 win vs. Ole Miss for making 14 tackles and two sacks.
