AUBURN, Ala. – Facing a tough test against then-ranked No. 4 Alabama to open the Southeastern Conference slate, Auburn softball (16-4) is holding steady in the national polls for the third straight week.
The Tigers dropped one spot to No. 22 in the latest USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 Coaches Poll.
Oklahoma (22-0) earned the unanimous No. 1 ranking from all four major polls. Rounding out the top five in the NFCA Coaches poll were No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 Alabama, No. 4 Oregon and No. 5 Florida.
Seven additional SEC programs earned a spot in the coaches' poll to bring the conference total to 10. Other teams in the league ranked include No. 9 Kentucky, No. 12 LSU, No. 16 Missouri, No. 17 Arkansas, No. 19 Georgia, No. 21 Tennessee and No. 24 South Carolina.
