She gave up the sport in 2016. Former Auburn swimmer Annie Lazor came back one year later in an attempt to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The games were postponed a year due to the pandemic. Five months before the U.S. qualifiers this year her father passed away. Training partners at Indiana University rallied around Lazor and last month she became a member of the Olympic team winning the 200 Breaststroke. Later this month she'll represent her country and Auburn in Tokyo.
