AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn men's golf team has been recognized for a thrilling start to the fall season, being ranked ninth and 18th in the Golfweek/Sagarin and Golfweek/Bushnell polls, respectively. 

Sophomore J.M. Butler has also been rewarded for his stellar performance in the Maui Jim Intercollegiate as he garners the top spot in the Golfweek/Sagarin individual rankings. 

At the Maui Jim Intercollegiate, the Tigers tied the fifth-best 18-hole team score in program history with a 16 under third round mark. With a final tournament score of 31 under, the team also paced the fourth-best 54-hole team score in Auburn history.

En route to be crowned the event's individual champion, Butler also rocketed into the all-time top-10 lists for lowest 18-hole score (-7, tied for sixth), lowest 36-hole score (-10, tied for eighth) and lowest 54-hole score (-17, first), respectively. 

The next action for the Tigers comes Oct. 4 - 5, as the men and women of Auburn golf head to Dublin, Ohio to compete in the Barbara Nicklaus Cup.
