AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn gymnastics team enters the week at No. 6 per RoadToNationals.com. The weekly rankings are based on an average score of all meets competed.
 
The placement marks the highest ranking for the program since 2016 when the squad finished the regular season ranked No. 6.
 
Auburn put together a 197.525-197.125 win over No. 9 Alabama last Friday in Auburn Arena. That score was not only a season best for the team, but also came in at second highest in program history.
 
The Tigers are set to travel to No. 8 LSU this weekend, taking on the other Tiger team on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 3 p.m. CT in Baton Rouge. The meet will be televised on ESPNU.
 
"What a huge opportunity for this team coming up," head coach Jeff Graba said. "It's another top 10 matchup and this one is on the road in one of the toughest environments in the country. We're looking forward to the challenge, while also focusing on the improvements we need to make this week."
 
Michigan, Oklahoma, and Utah hold the top spots in the country. Florida is ranked fourth with Minnesota coming in fifth. Auburn is the second-highest ranked Southeastern Conference squad at sixth with LSU at No. 8 and Alabama at ninth. Missouri (11), Kentucky (12) and Arkansas (t-13) are also in the top 15.
 
Auburn continues to soar up the beam rankings after posting a season-best 49.450 vs. Alabama last week. The Tigers are tied for fifth nationally with a 49.288 average.
 
The team also moved up the floor rankings following another season high last week. The team posted a 49.550 to move up to ninth overall with a 49.288 average.
 
In addition, the squad is eighth on vault (49.231) and 11th on bars (49.238).
 
Individually, freshman Sunisa Lee is third nationally in the all-around with a 39.700. She is also tied for 19th on bars (9.887), 21st on vault (9.875) and 24th on floor (9.900).
 
Senior Derrian Gobourne is tied for 11th on floor with a 9.931 average and has captured the floor title in all meets competed so far.
