Joe Ciampi has more wins as a basketball coach at Auburn than anyone. He took the Lady Tigers to three straight Final Fours, won four SEC Championships and four SEC Tournament Championships. Ciampi was the SEC Coach of the Year three times and National Coach of the Year twice. In 2005, he was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. The following year he went into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.
Prior to the Auburn-Alabama on January 23rd, Auburn hung a banner in the Arena, honoring his fabulous 25-year career. Bruce Pearl stopped his practice and brought his team and staff to watch the ceremony.
