No. 3 Tigers welcome Ole Miss, No. 10 Delaware State this weekend

AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 3 Auburn equestrian team is set to welcome two teams to the Auburn University Equestrian Center this weekend, hosting Ole Miss and No. 10 Delaware State over two days.
 
"We're looking forward to a beautiful weekend on the Plains," head coach Greg Williams said. "Delaware State is a well-coached team. Their depth and talent keep getting better every year and they are a team that can come up and beat you. There are going to be big rides this Saturday and we're excited about it."
 
Delaware State and Ole Miss will face off in a full meet Friday to kick off action, starting at 10 a.m. CT. Auburn and the Rebels will compete in a Jumping Seat-only contest at 2:30 p.m. CT to close out the day. The No. 3 Tigers and No. 10 Hornets will square off at 11 a.m. CT Saturday in a full team meet.
 
SPECTATOR INFORMATION
The Kid's Zone will be available Saturday only with a bounce house, pony rides and yard games available to all kids in attendance. Admission to all equestrian meets is free.
 
Starting Friday, Auburn Equestrian boot mugs will be given away to fans while supplies last.
 
In addition, any dog and member of Paws & Claws in attendance on Saturday will get a prize pack for attending. To get your prize, please find the marketing table.
 
Members of the Heritage Club are reminded that entrance to the Scholarship Lounge requires a mask.

AUBURN LINEUP
Auburn will see a handful of Tigers compete this weekend over the two meets.
 
Against Ole Miss Friday, Auburn's Jumping Seat contingent will include one senior, two juniors, two sophomores and two freshmen. Leading the way will be freshman Mary-Grace Segars, who is set to compete in both Fences and Flat.
 
Joining her in Fences will be senior Jessica West, junior Mary McDaniel and sophomore Grace Pearson. Going on Flat will be Segars, junior Lindsey Klein, sophomore Helen Lohr and freshman Hallie Rush.
 
Auburn will return to its full roster against Delaware State Saturday.
 
Four Tigers in senior Emma Kurtz, junior Ava Stearns, sophomore Ellie Ferrigno and freshman Sophee Steckbeck will ride in both Fences and Flat against the Hornets. Stearns leads the team with 18 total wins, including 10 in Fences. Kurtz and Ferrigno each have eight wins in Fences, while Kurtz and Steckbeck have seven in Flat.
 
Senior Meghan Knapic is slated to ride in Fences for the Tigers, while fifth year Helen Ulrich is down for Flat. Ulrich is coming off an MOP performance at South Carolina last week.
 
In Western competition, fifth years Taylor Searles and Terri-June Granger are once again ready to lead the squad. Searles has a team-best eight wins in Horsemanship, while Granger is inching closer to the program's Reining wins record.  
 
Juniors Maddie Spak and Olivia Tordoff with sophomores Madison Parduhn and Jacqueline Frimodt will also represent Auburn in Horsemanship. Parduhn is second on the squad with seven wins, while Tordoff is on a six-meet winning streak with five MOPs.
 
Joining Granger in Reining will be junior Boo Kammerer and sophomores Kate Buchanan, Olivia Marino and Isabella Tesmer. Kammerer and Tesmer are second on the team with four wins this season in the event.
 
DELAWARE STATE SERIES
Auburn is 9-0 vs. Delaware State in the all-time series. The team is 3-0 at home with a 3-0 record on the road and another 3-0 record in neutral contests.
 
The Hornets last traveled to Auburn on Oct. 8, 2010, and the Tigers took a 15-4 win over DSU. The two teams last met in February 2019 in Fresno, California. Auburn bested Delaware State, 15-1.
 
UP NEXT
The Tigers will take a week off from competition before hosting No. 2 Texas A&M at the Auburn University Equestrian Center, Feb. 26. It will be the team's regular season home finale and the two Southeastern Conference foes will face off at 11 a.m. CT.
