AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 3 Auburn equestrian team hosted Ole Miss Friday afternoon for a Jumping Seat exhibition, topping the Rebels at the Auburn University Equestrian Center, 7-1.
"The team rode great today, but I still admire the drive and grit of the Ole Miss team," head coach Greg Williams said. "We know Delaware State will come out charging tomorrow and we're looking forward to another great day of competition."
The Tigers kicked off the day with a 4-0 sweep in Flat. Sophomore Helen Lohr led off with a 68.5-60 victory over Mary Roberson, while junior Lindsey Klein followed with 85 points in her win to take MOP honors. Freshman Mary-Grace Segars bested Kayla Benson with a career-best 92 points and classmate Hallie Rush finished with 88 points in her win.
Sophomore Grace Pearson opened up Fences with an 81-78 victory to secure MOP. Segars put an exclamation on her perfect day with an 82-66 win over Olivia Simpson and senior Jessica West scored 84 points in her victory. Ole Miss captured the last point of the day.
The No. 3 Tigers return to action Saturda, Feb. 12, hosting No. 10 Delaware State in full team meet. Action starts at 11 a.m. CT at the Auburn University Equestrian Center and admission is free.
