AUBURN, Ala. – The 13th-ranked Auburn women's tennis team will play the final match of its non-conference segment Sunday when the Tigers host Tulane. The match is set for a noon CT start at the Yarbrough Tennis Center, and admission is free.

"Tulane's going to be hungry," Auburn head coach Caroline Lilley said. "We've earned the opportunity to be hunted. I love being hunted, I think it's a privilege. We like that privilege and embrace it. But they're good. Maria (Brito) and Keri (Wong) are great coaches, they coach a high level of tennis. We expect them to be aggressive, we expect them to come out swinging, and we know that they're going to push us."

The Tigers (8-2) are coming off a successful weekend at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships that saw them face three top-16 opponents, earning one win and taking another to the wire. Auburn defeated No. 16 Washington 4-1 last Saturday while dropping a 4-2 decision to No. 6 NC State and a 4-3 heartbreaker to No. 11 Ohio State.

"It's the toughest tournament of the year, hands down," Lilley said. "You have the top 16 teams in the country there, and they're all playing good tennis. Our girls did a great job. They did exactly what was asked of them. The results are reflective of the challenges of that tournament, but we're also really proud because our girls certainly earned opportunities against some elite indoor teams. Without a doubt, we can compete with any team in the country."

Tulane (4-2) comes into Sunday's match after a 7-0 win over ULM Friday at home. The Green Wave also has wins over Alcorn State, Northwestern State and Southern so far this season. Auburn is 9-1 all-time against Tulane; the last meeting came in 2018, a 4-0 Auburn win at home in the ITA Kickoff.

Admission is free to all Auburn home tennis matches at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. Live scoring and live video (if outdoors) will be available at AuburnTigers.com.
