AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn (2-1) is set to begin its 2022 home schedule against Troy (4-0) Wednesday at 5 p.m. CT at Plainsman Park.  
 
"Whenever we hook it up against an in-state opponent, we always want to do good against each other," head coach Butch Thompson said. "We're coming right out of the gate on Wednesday and we need to be at our best."
 
The game will be broadcast on the Auburn Sports Network. Brad Law and Mark Fuller can be heard locally on Tiger 95.9 FM.

QUICK HITTERS 
Wednesday marks the start of Auburn 73rd season at Plainsman Park.
 
The Tigers are 6-0 in home openers under head coach Butch Thompson and have outscored the opponent 55-13 during his tenure.
 
Wednesday's game also begins a stretch of 17 of the next 18 games to be played at Plainsman Park.
 
Auburn went 15-6 against non-conference competition last year and is 67-21 (.761) against non-conference opponents in the regular season since the start of the 2018 season.
 
The Auburn pitching staff allowed just five runs (four earned) on 10 hits in three games at the State Farm College Baseball Showdown to begin the season.
 
The four earned runs were the fewest in three games against Power 5 competition since 2019 (Tennessee) and the 10 hits were the fewest in a three-game span since 2015 (Radford).
 
The Tigers finished Opening Weekend ranked first in the SEC in hits allowed and opponent batting average (.127) and second in ERA (1.38).
 
Auburn is 56-23 all-time against Troy, including 35-9 at Plainsman Park.
 
Wednesday marks the first meeting between the two teams since 2018.
 
SCOUTING THE TROJANS 
Troy hosted Holy Cross in a four-game series and outscored the Crusaders 44-8 during Opening Weekend.
 
The Trojans ripped off 54 hits (.380 average) during the four-game series, with five players record six or more.
 
The pitching staff turned in a 2.00 ERA in 36.0 innings and struck out 46 while issuing 12 walks.

Fans are encouraged to park in the coliseum parking lot, athletics complex parking deck and the ground level of the stadium parking deck. The Auburn Arena parking lot will be closed due to the men's basketball game.
 
Students who plan to utilize the new outfield viewing plaza in right center do not need to enter through the main student gate and may bring outside food and beverage into the space.
 
Students who wish to sit inside the ballpark (sections 111 and 58-73) must enter through the gate located behind home plate. Students will utilize their digital Tiger Card on their phones for entry. They may no longer enter through the gate located at the Tiger Terrace or down the right field, which has been moved approximately 30 feet from its original location.
 
All transactions for concessions and merchandise locations at Plainsman Park will be cashless (credit/debit and Tiger Cards only).
