AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn gymnastics team enters the week at No. 7 per RoadToNationals.com. The weekly rankings are based on an average score of all meets competed.
Auburn tied the program record with a 197.750 on the road at then-No. 8 LSU. The squad also added a season high on vault (49.473) and beam (49.550).
"After a historic road trip, it's going to be great to get back to Auburn Arena," head coach Jeff Graba said. "We can't wait to host another top 10 matchup in front of our home crowd. Friday night is another opportunity to get better and hopefully keep this roll we're on going."
No. 7 Auburn hosts No. 9 Missouri in Auburn Arena on Friday, Feb. 11. The meet is set for 8 p.m. CT and will be televised on SEC Network.
Michigan, Oklahoma and Utah continue to hold the top spots in the country. Florida and LSU are ranked fourth and fifth with Minnesota holding on to sixth. Alabama (8), Missouri (9) and Kentucky (10) are all in the top 10 with Arkansas ranking No. 14.
The Tigers are ranked in the top 10 in all event categories following a successful meet at LSU.
Auburn moved up the beam rankings and are ranked tied for fourth with a 49.340. The team is eighth on vault (49.280), ninth on bars (49.260) and 10th on floor (49.305).
Individually, freshman Sunisa Lee is tied for first nationally in the all-around with a 39.763. Her 39.825 at LSU set a program record in the category and was tied for the highest score in the country this year.
Lee is also among the top 20 in three events. She's tied for ninth on bars (9.910), 15th on vault (9.887) and 18th on floor (9.917).
Senior Derrian Gobourne is among the top 20 on floor and vault, ranking 11th on floor (9.930) and 18th on vault (9.875). Fifth year Drew Watson is also 18th on vault, while freshman Sophia Groth is 18th on beam (9.894).
