ORLANDO, Fla. – With inclement weather in the forecast for Tuesday, the Auburn women's golf played all of round two and most of round three at the UCF Challenge on Monday.

The Tigers continued their strong play from the first round and went even lower in round two, shooting 278 (-10) with 20 birdies. All five players in the lineup finished under par, and they remained in third place as a team. However, a slow start to the third round has Auburn in fifth at 17-under par with roughly five holes left to play.

"Solid play in round two," Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said. "Once the scorecards were signed and round three started, we started making bogies and struggled to right the ship. We have an opportunity tomorrow to finish strong and move up the leaderboard."

Sophomore Anna Foster made it nine straight rounds under par, firing a 2-under 70 in the second round. Foster made three birdies and also achieved the team's only eagle of the tournament on the 13th hole, a Par 5. At 7-under, she was tied for fifth overall through two rounds.

Elina Sinz had the low round of the day for the Tigers, matching her career low with a 68 (-4) on Monday. The sophomore had five birdies and moved up into a tie for 15th with teammate Kaleigh Telfer who followed her 69 (-3) from Sunday with a 1-under 71 in the second round. Telfer made a pair of birdies in the round and had just two bogeys through 36 holes.

Junior Megan Schofill kept her low streak alive, shooting in the red for the fifth straight round. Schofill shot a 70 (-2) in the second round Monday after opening the tournament with a 71 (-1). She was tied for 21st on the individual leaderboard after round two.

After a slow start to the tournament, senior Mychael O'Berry bounced back with a 2-under 70 in the second round to move up into a tie for 65th overall. O'Berry was the only Tiger under par in the third round when play was stopped. She was at 3-under.

Auburn's lone individual, Julie McCarthy, was tied for 76th at 5-over after two rounds.

Barring the weather, the Tigers will look finish up the third round Tuesday. All 18 teams will resume play at 7:45 a.m. CT. Live scoring can be found on Golfstat.com.
