In 1997, Auburn softball competed in its inaugural season. Throughout the 2022 campaign, we are celebrating the many faces, moments and victories that have shaped our program over the last 25 years.

As part of our 25 Years of Auburn Softball celebration, we're checking in with alumni from every era of the program to share their memories of being a Tiger.

Next to take the spotlight is Lolani Alvarez. A native of Cypress, Calif, Alvarez (2004-2005) transferred from Cypress Community College to play her final two collegiate seasons on the Plains. The infielder was named to the 2005 SEC Academic Honor Roll her senior season.
 
Q: Why did you decide to continue your softball career at Auburn?
Alvarez: I loved the immediate feeling of family I felt upon my visit, and I wanted to go somewhere completely different than where I grew up.
 
Q: What is your favorite on-field memory?
Alvarez: Hitting back-to-back home runs. Never did I ever think that would happen.
 
Q: What do you consider your biggest accomplishment during your collegiate career – on or off the field?
Alvarez: Being the first in my family to earn a full scholarship.
 
Q: Why is one of your favorite memories with a teammate?
Alvarez: There is not enough time for this! We continue to make memories even 15 years later.
 
Q: Looking back at your career, what is one word you'd use to describe it?
Alvarez: Growth. I grew so much as a person, an athlete and a student during my time at Auburn.
 
Q: Who influenced your softball career the most?
Alvarez: Lisa Fernandez.
 
Q: What was your favorite uniform combo?
Alvarez: All blues, baby!
 
Q: Why advice would you give to current/future Auburn softball student-athletes?
Alvarez: Take advantage of everything at your disposal while you are a student-athlete. Learn, network and have fun!
 
Q: If you can give a message to the Auburn Family, what would it be?
Alvarez: I believe in Auburn and love it.
 
Q: What degree did you earn? What is your current career path?
Alvarez: I majored in mass communications. I Currently work as a paralegal.
