In 1997, Auburn softball competed in its inaugural season. Throughout the 2022 campaign, we are celebrating the many faces, moments and victories that have shaped our program over the last 25 years.
As part of our 25 Years of Auburn Softball celebration, we're checking in with alumni from every era of the program to share their memories of being a Tiger.
Transferring from Washington, Kimberlee Myers (2015-16) was a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member during her two time on the Plains.
Q: Why did you decide to continue your softball career at Auburn?
Myers: For the opportunity to compete for a national championship.
Q: Looking back at your career, what is one word you'd use to describe it?
Myers: Bittersweet. There is so much more I would have loved to accomplish, but I am forever thankful for the way it turned out due to the lessons I learned.
Q: Who influenced your softball career the most?
Myers: Every single coach impacted my career in more ways than they could imagine. I have to thank Rocky Thompson specifically for pushing me to be my best and for always believing in me. Rocky always helped me stay grounded and focused on what was truly important beyond the game.
Q: What advice would you give to current/future Auburn softball student-athletes?
Myers: Enjoy every, single second. Appreciate the highs and learn all that you can from the lows. It'll make you into a better person.
Q: If you can give a message to the Auburn Family, what would it be?
Myers: Thank you!! I tell everyone out West about Auburn all the time, and I mean it when I say I will always be thankful that the Lord led me to Auburn. Thank you for enjoying the ride with us!
Q: What degree did you earn? What is your current career path?
Myers: I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology. I am currently a medial social worker in Gilbert, Arizona.
