Smith Semifinalist For Jersey Mike's Naismith Men's Player of the Year Award

ATLANTA – Auburn freshman forward and SEC Freshman of the Year Jabari Smith (Fayetteville, Ga.) is a semifinalist for this year's Jersey Mike's Naismith Men's Player of the Year Award as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club on Friday.
 
Smith has had a banner rookie year also becoming the first Auburn player in program history since 1999 to be named an All-American. He was honored on the Sports Illustrated All-America First Team and The Sporting News All-America Second Team this past week.
 
The SEC coaches also selected him to the All-SEC First Team and SEC All-Freshman Team. Smith was a six-time freshman of the week honoree averaging a team-leading 17.1 points per game in all 31 games he played and started in the regular season.
 
The 6-foot-10 phenom is a finalist for the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award and in the running for the John R. Wooden National Player of the Year Award.
