AUBURN, Ala. – Senior Derrian Gobourne of the No. 6 Auburn gymnastics team was named one of six finalists for the AAI Award. The American Athletic Inc. honors one senior student-athlete each year from NCAA Division I gymnastics.
The organization will announce the winner next month at the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships' awards banquet in Fort Worth, Texas.
Gobourne has been a leader for the program since she stepped foot on campus and has guided the team to big moments these last four years.
She became the program's first national champion as a freshman when she won a share of the vault title in 2019 with a career-high score of 9.95. She's a three-time All-American and All-SEC performer as well as the 2021 SEC Co-Specialist of the Year.
Overall, Gobourne has won five all-around titles, 17 floor victories, 10 bars crowns and nine vault titles.
