AUBURN, Ala. – Following a career-best outing at the General Hackler Championship, Auburn men's golf freshman Evan Vo was named SEC Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference office Thursday.
Vo joins Brendan Valdes as the second Tiger to win the award this season. The duo is the first to combine for back-to-back awards for the Tigers since its inception in 2014.
At the General Hackler Championship, Vo shot 71-70-64 to finish tied for second place at 11 strokes under par. Alongside teammate J.M. Butler, Vo was one of only three underclassmen to finish inside the tournament's top 10.
The Austin, Texas native set career lows for 18 and 54 holes en route to tying the course record with a 64 during Monday's final round. His 8-under, 64 ranks at the third best solo round in program history.
Auburn golf will return to action in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate March 27 – 29.
