AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn women's golf will once again be represented at this year's Augusta National Women's Amateur with senior Mychael O'Berry and junior Megan Schofill among the 72 golfers in the 2022 field who will tee off Wednesday.

This is the third edition of the Augusta National Women's Amateur (ANWA). The marquee event, which features the best women's amateur players in the world, was established in 2018 to inspire greater interest and participation in the women's game by creating a new, exciting and rewarding pathway for these players to fulfill their dreams.

"It's always an honor to get the invitation," Schofill said. "It's every female and male golfer's dream to play Augusta National. I'm really excited to go back and play again and hopefully play a little bit better."

Schofill made her ANWA debut last year and finished 70th through two rounds. This will be O'Berry's first appearance in the Augusta National Women's Amateur.

"It's an honor," O'Berry said. "This has been my goal since the tournament was announced. Just to be able to get it on my last year is super special. I'm excited and hoping to represent Auburn well. Any time you get to tee it up at Augusta National, it's pretty special."

The tournament features 54 holes of stroke play over three rounds of competition. Golfers will compete on Wednesday and Thursday at the Champions Retreat Golf Course with a top-30 cut taking place after the first 36 holes. Those who make the cut will play the final round Saturday at the prestigious Augusta National Golf Club.

"You have 72 of the best amateur golfers in the world competing for 30 spots," O'Berry said. "That's the ultimate goal – to tee it up on Saturday."

Every player in the field will take part in a practice round at Augusta National on Friday.

With O'Berry and Schofill both invited to play in the 2022 event, Auburn has now had six total invitations to the three ANWA tournaments. Schofill and Kaleigh Telfer have each been invited twice while O'Berry and Julie McCarthy have been invited once.

Live scoring, highlights, features and interviews can be found at ANWAgolf.com. Saturday's final round will be broadcast live on NBC from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT. In addition, a "Making the Cut" show will air on ANWAgolf.com on Thursday and focus on players aiming to make the final round cut of 30 players.
