AWENDAW, S.C. – Finishing just four strokes off the tournament lead, Auburn men's golf concluded play at the Hootie Intercollegiate at Bulls Bay Tuesday at 16 strokes below par, led by junior Alex Vogelsong at 6-under.

Vogelsong's 6-under, 210 marks his best outing of the season, surpassing his 5-under performance a week ago at the General Hackler Championship. The Palm City, Florida native collected the seventh top-10 finish of his career with a tied for seventh outing this week.

Nipping at the heels of Vogelsong was sophomore J.M. Butler, who finished just a stroke back at 5-under, 211. Butler led the field of 96 players with 17 birdies made through his 54 holes. As a team, Auburn also led in the birdie category, picking up 63 total from its five-player lineup.

Butler's tied for 11th finish marks the sixth time in seven tournaments that the Louisville, Kentucky native has finished inside the top-15 of the individual leaderboard.

York, Pennsylvania native Carson Bacha also carded a noteworthy week in the low country. The sophomore picked up new career lows for one, two and three rounds en route to a 2-under, 214 finish.

The Tigers final tally of 848 was accumulated via a 5-under, 283 in round one, a 9-under, 279 in round two and a 2-under, 286 in round three. Auburn was one of only two squads to shoot below par in Tuesday's finale.

"Overall, it was a good week, and I am proud of the way we played," Auburn head coach Nick Clinard said. "We did not have our best putting tournament, but we still played with a lot of heart each day. This team is really, really good, and we are excited about the rest of the spring."

In a four-way tie for first place, ETSU, NC State, Missouri and South Carolina all took home top honors at 20-under. Archie Davies of ETSU claimed the individual championship with a 12-under, 204.
