Anna Haddock joins U.S. U-23 Women’s Youth National Team

CHICAGO – Sophomore midfielder Anna Haddock has been added to the U.S. U-23 Women's Youth National Team roster, the organization announced Thursday.
 
Haddock joins the youth national team for the Thorns Preseason Tournament, during which it will play three NWSL teams from Mar. 5-11 at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon.
 
The USA opens against the Chicago Red Stars on Saturday, March 5 at 4:30 p.m. CT followed by the Portland Thorns taking on the OL Reign at 7 p.m. The tournament continues on Tuesday, March 8 with the Red Stars facing the OL Reign at 7 p.m., and the USA will play the Thorns at 9:30 p.m. The friendly competition will finish on Friday, March 11 as the USA faces the OL Reign at 7 p.m. and the Thorns take on the Red Stars at 9:30 p.m.
 
The lone sophomore to earn 2021 First Team All-SEC honors, Haddock led Auburn and ranked in the top 10 in the Southeastern Conference in goals (nine), assists (eight) and points (26). Her nine goals were tied for the most and her 26 points were the most since 2016. The totals were also the fourth most by an Auburn underclassman in program history.
 
A native of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Haddock scored eight of her nine goals in the first 10 games of the season, marking the most goals in the first 10 games since 2000. Four of her nine goals turned out to be game winners, tied for the eighth most in single-season history. Haddock was twice named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week and was recognized by Top Drawer Soccer on the Team on the Week three times. She was also tabbed the No. 48 player in the country in the publication's midseason top 100.
 
Haddock is a two-time United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Southeast Region honoree and a 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-American. She has totaled 40 points on 11 goals and 18 assists in her first 38 career games.
