Tim Vines came to Auburn University from Lafayette, Alabama. Eight members of his family went to college. At Auburn, he walked on the baseball team playing alongside the likes of Bo Jackson, Gregg Olson and Frank Thomas. His first job out of college was that of a banker with SouthTrust. From there he began his career with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. In 2018, he was appointed as the President and CEO.
He also was appointed to the Auburn University Board of Trustees in 2021, replacing U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
