AUBURN, Ala. – Despite a tough weekend in Fayetteville, Auburn softball (30-9) was ranked across all four major softball polls for the eighth consecutive week.
The Tigers fell two spots to No. 19 in both the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll and the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25. The Tigers slid four spots to No. 22 in the latest D1 Softball Top 25 and Softball America Collegiate Top 25. In the updated NCAA Division I RPI rankings, Auburn checked in at No. 23 for the second straight week.
The Tigers drop a close series to then ranked No. 10 Arkansas in Fayetteville. The Tigers take a break from Southeastern Conference action this week with six straight nonconference matchups. The Tigers offensive production has slipped over the course of league action as Auburn has slugged 66 total home runs, which is tied for the fifth most in a single season.
Oklahoma remains the unanimous No. 1 team in the country for the ninth consecutive week as the Sooner remain undefeated with a 36-0 record. A total of eight SEC programs were ranked in the latest polls. Joining the Tigers were No. 3 Alabama, No. 7 Arkansas, No. 8 Kentucky, No. 9 Florida, No. 14 Georgia, No. 15 Tennessee and No. 21 LSU.
