AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn women's tennis continued earning recognition for its stellar 2022 season as three student-athletes were named to the All-SEC First Team, the conference office announced Thursday.

Juniors Selin Ovunc and Carolyn Ansari and sophomore Ariana Arseneault were all named to the All-SEC First Team, giving Auburn its most first-team selections in a single season in program history.

Ovunc ended the regular season ranked No. 34 nationally in singles and No. 10 in doubles along with Arseneault. She posted a 7-6 record in SEC matches at the top singles position that included a stretch of four straight wins over ranked opponents. After wins over No. 2 Sarah Hamner and No. 15 McCartney Kessler in mid-April, she was named SEC Player of the Week and jumped more than 30 spots in the national rankings. The 2021 All-American was a second-team All-SEC selection last year.

Ansari has been solid at the No. 3 singles position this season, posting an 18-5 record in dual matches, 27-10 overall for the season, and 10-3 in SEC play. She enters the postseason ranked No. 111 in singles and has been as high as No. 81 during the spring season. Ansari has recorded six wins over ranked opponents this season. In doubles, she has recorded a 16-6 record in dual matches (8-4 SEC) with the majority of those matches being played alongside partner Madeline Meredith. Ansari was also an All-SEC second team selection in 2021.

Arseneault has provided a spark at the second singles spot, going 16-6 in dual matches and 9-4 in SEC play. She enters the postseason on a four-match winning streak, all of those victories coming over ranked opponents, and she is up to No. 61 in the national singles rankings. In doubles, she and Ovunc have been among the nation's best tandems, going 9-1 in SEC play and 13-5 overall in the spring, earning three top-20 wins over the last month of the season. Arseneault was an All-American in doubles in 2021.

Auburn has now had 11 different players selected to the All-SEC First Team in program history.

The Tigers will learn their postseason destination and opponents Monday night as the NCAA Selection Show is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT on NCAA.com. The NCAA Tournament begins next Friday, May 6.
