Tyler Stice was named first team all-SEC by the league's coaches and Will Nolan earned a spot on the SEC all-freshman team for the 2022 men's tennis season.
Stice, from Atlanta, Ga., posted a 14-9 record at No. 1 singles this season, facing 17 ranked opponents. Currently ranked No. 22 nationally, he went 7-6 in SEC play, including wins during the last month of the season over the nation's No. 1 and No. 2 ranked players, Ben Shelton of Florida and Daniel Rodrigues of South Carolina.
Paired in doubles with Jan Galka, Stice was 19-9 overall and 5-7 against SEC opponents.
Stice, who was also a first-team all-SEC selection in 2021, becomes Auburn's first repeat all-conference player since Andreas Mies in 2012 and 2013.
"What a great honor for both these players to receive these accolades. Tyler has been very successful at the No. 1 position in just his second full season and has only gained more confidence in himself as the year progressed," Auburn head coach Bobby Reynolds said. "He is our captain, the leader of the team who shows up every match excited for the challenges ahead. He leads by example with his work ethic and determination. We couldn't ask for a better individual to be the face of our program."
Nolan, from Derbyshire, England, received a spot on the SEC all-freshman team. He went 19-9 in singles this season playing at numbers five and six and was 5-7 against conference opponents. He went 7-0 in limited doubles action.
"Will has been a great addition to our team this year, and the success he had had in his first year in the SEC is impressive," Coach Reynolds added. "His carefree but intense on-court attitude will allow him to reach some amazing milestones in the future. Will is a believer in the Orange and Blue and we are excited about what the future holds with his tennis."
Auburn is 20-10 for the spring season and finished 5-7 in SEC play; this is Auburn's first 20-win season since 2002. After reaching the SEC tournament semifinals, the Tigers are ranked No. 24 in the latest ITA team ratings and No. 22 in the Tennis Channel/USTA Top 25.
NCAA tournament bids and pairings will be announced Monday afternoon.
