GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore Shelby Lowe, Auburn softball's team leader in community service hours, was honored Tuesday with a selection to the Southeastern Conference Softball Community Service Team.
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 21 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
Recording over 20 hours of community service this season, Lowe has participated in various events and activities to give back to the Auburn community. She has sorted donations during the Beat Bama Canned Food Drive, gathered gifts and donations for the Salvation Army's Angel Tree project and has volunteered her time working festival booths during local community events.
With a passion for working with children and aspirations to become a teacher following her collegiate career, Lowe always makes time to interact with children after every home contest at Jane B. Moore Field.
