TEAM NOTES
Auburn's win in the series opener against Alabama marked the team's ninth one-run win of the season (9-4) … the team went 6-11 in one-run games last year … trailing 4-0 after the first inning Saturday, Auburn's 6-4 win in game two against Alabama was the team's 18th comeback win of the season, including its largest in SEC play since coming back from a 6-2 deficit against Florida on Apr. 25, 2021 … the Tigers are now 16-6 in games decided by two runs or less this season … Saturday's win now guarantees Auburn a winning record in SEC play for the first time since 2017 and the second time since 2010 … prior to Coach Thompsons arrival in 2016, the 2010 season marked the program's only winning SEC season since 2003 (18-12) … with two wins against the Crimson Tide, the Tigers have beaten their archrival in nine of the last 13 matchups dating back to 2018 … all three games against Alabama were sellouts (4,096), and the weekend attendance of 12,288 would've registered third all-time if the third game would've been official … the team's bullpen is 4-0 with a 1.00 ERA, allowing 11 hits and striking out 30 in the last five games and 27.0 innings pitched … Auburn enters the week ranked No. 4 in the RPI … with one week remaining in the regular season, the Tigers are third in the SEC West and fourth overall in the league standings, 1.5 games ahead of Georgia, LSU and Vanderbilt … the top four teams receive a bye in the first day of the SEC Tournament.
