AUBURN, Ala. – The series finale between No. 20 Auburn and Alabama was halted in the bottom of the fifth inning and ultimately ruled a no-contest after a nearly two-hour weather delay.

The game entered a delay at 4:32 p.m. with the score tied 1-1 with one out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth inning. Due to the on-going delay and curfew restrictions surrounding getaway games, the contest could not be restarting before the designated time.

After starting pitchers Joseph Gonzalez and Grayson Hitt worked the first four frames in scoreless fashion, Alabama started the scoring on back-to-back doubles to start the fifth. However, Gonzalez did a good job to minimize the damage and keep the deficit at one.

Nate LaRue and Garrett Farquhar started the home half of the frame with back-to-back singles, and LaRue came home to tie the game on a perfectly-executed safety squeeze by Brody Moore. Sonny DiChiara was intentionally walked and Blake Rambusch drew a four-pitch walk to load the bases, but the game entered the delay during Bobby Perice's at-bat and was never resumed.

Auburn begins its final week of the regular season at Samford Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT.
