Consider the last 12 months of Emily Carosone's life. The assistant coach on the Auburn Softball staff played for Team Italy in the 2022 Olympic Games in Tokyo. To do so, she extended her playing career for another year. Earlier this month she became the first softball student-athlete to be inducted into the Auburn Tiger Trail. A granite marker will be placed in downtown Auburn along with the likes of Bo Jackson, Ruthie Bolton and Charles Barkley.
The numbers speak for themselves regarding Carosone. She is Auburn's all-time leader in career batting average, hits, runs, on-base percentage and hit by pitches. Carosone played on two SEC Tournament Championship teams and played in two College World Series. These days you'll find her coaching first base for the Tigers.
