Alumni Spotlight: Casey McCrackinAlumni Spotlight: Casey McCrackin

In 1997, Auburn softball competed in its inaugural season. Throughout the 2022 campaign, we are celebrating the many faces, moments and victories that have shaped our program over the last 25 years.

As part of our 25 Years of Auburn Softball celebration, we're checking in with alumni from every era of the program to share their memories of being a Tiger.

Getting it done both on the field and in the classroom, Casey McCrackin (2016-10) was an SEC All-Defensive Team member while also earning academic honors from both the SEC and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association throughout her career.

Q: Why did you decide to continue your softball career at Auburn?
McCrackin: I felt like Auburn was the best place for me to compete and become a better player. When you add in the support of the Auburn Family and the academics, it was an easy decision.

Q: What was your favorite on-field memory?
McCrackin: Hitting the walk-off against Alabama my junior year.

Q: What do you consider your biggest accomplishment during your collegiate career?
McCrackin: Making the SEC All-Defensive team. I always took a lot of pride in my defense, so I was so happy to see that I was recognized for it.

Q: What is one of your favorite memories with a teammate?
McCrackin: I always loved doing the pregame handshakes. Some of the handshakes were silly, but those small moments create such fond memories with some great girls.

Q: Looking back at your career, what is one word you'd use to describe it?
McCrackin: Determined.

Q: Who has influenced your softball career the most?
McCrackin: Definitely, my parents.

Q: What was your favorite uniform combo?
McCrackin: The white uniforms with blue socks and belt.

Q: What advice would you give to current/future Auburn softball student-athletes?
McCrackin: For four years, you will be put through a lot physically and mentally. My advice would be to find people you can depend on. They can make the grind easier and will become great friends.

Q: If you could give a message to the Auburn fans and family, what would it be?
McCrackin: It would simply be thank you. Being able to play at Jane B. Moore with the best fans in the country was such a privilege!

Q: What degree did you earn? What is your current career path?
McCrackin: Bachelor's in finance. I am currently a financial analyst.
