SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Bouncing back from a tough opening round, Auburn men's golf sophomore Carson Bacha carded the team's low round of the day on Saturday at even par (70), tying the second-best score of the afternoon session at the NCAA Championship.

As a team, the Tigers sit seventh on the leaderboard at 581 (+21) through 36 holes at Grayhawk Golf Club. They also sit six strokes ahead of 16th place, the first cut following round three.

Bacha's afternoon was highlighted by a quartet of birdies, coming on holes 4, 5, 14 and 16. The York, Pennsylvania native has now collected 83 total on the year, and averages 3.61 per round.

Rounding out the rest of the Auburn lineup was sophomore J.M. Butler (74), junior Alex Vogelsong (75), freshman Evan Vo (77) and freshman Brendan Valdes (79). Both Bacha and Butler are tied as the team's low scorer at 146 (+6) through two rounds.

No. 1 Oklahoma leads the competition heading into the third round at 562 (+2). Cole Sherwood of Vanderbilt leads the players at 137 (-3).

For Sunday's slate, Auburn will be paired with Texas and Arizona State and will tee off from the first hole at 9:05 a.m. CT. To keep its national title dreams alive, the team will need to finish inside the top-15 to earn a spot in Monday's stroke-play finale.
