AUBURN, Ala. – No. 20 Auburn (32-16) finishes off its home-and-home series with Troy (29-17) Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT at Riddle-Pace Field.

"Every game is important," head coach Butch Thompson said. "We just have to go out and play good baseball. If we want to be fresh going into our rivalry series, our offense has to post, we have to dominate the routine plays and we need pitching depth to have a chance.

"They're excited under a first-year head coach. We have to be ready to go."

Troy enters the week with a 29-17 overall record and 13-11 mark in Sun Belt play after getting swept at Georgia Southern over the weekend.
 
The Trojans entered last weekend riding a five-game winning streak.
 
Offensively, Troy is hitting .275 as a team and is led by junior infielder Donovan Whibbs .323 clip. Senior infielder Jesse Hall has been the team's top run scorer and producer, leading the way with 34 runs scored and 35 driven in.
 
On the mound, the Trojans have turned in a 4.67 staff ERA and have struck out 451 batters in 407.0 innings, good for the top strikeout rate (10.0) in the Sun Belt.
