When the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships comes to a close next month, Ralph Spry will complete his 25th season as Auburn's head coach. It will also be his last. He announced his retirement last month.
           
His career at Auburn includes a Women's National Championship in 2006 and a couple near misses on the men's and women's sides. Auburn student athletes have won 32 national titles, 19 outdoor champions and 13 indoor champions. Ralph has coached 27 Olympians. At Ole Miss, he was the first ever national champion in track and field, winning a long jump title in 1983.
           
During his quarter century on the Plains, he has endured losing his home to a fire caused by a lightning strike. He is also a cancer survivor.
