TUCSON, Ariz. – Auburn senior first baseman Sonny DiChiara was named Second Team All-America by Collegiate Baseball this week.

DiChiara's recognition marks the 32nd All-America honor in program history and is the seventh consecutive season an Auburn player has earned an All-America nod. He has already been named the Southeastern Conference Co-Player of the Year, First Team All-SEC and a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy.

DiChiara is the league leader in on-base percentage (.556) and slugging percentage (.787) while ranking third in batting average (.379). His on-base clip is also good for second in the country and is 49 points higher than any other SEC player in the last 10 full seasons.

A native of Hoover, Alabama, DiChiara is fourth among active Division I players with 59 career home runs and has homered 18 times this year, marking the most by an Auburn player since 2010 and tied for the 10th most in program history. He has drawn 62 walks this season, the most in the country and the second most in the team's single-season history, and has reached base in all but one game, including multiple times on 43 occasions.

DiChiara and the No. 14 national seed Tigers (37-19) host Southeastern (30-29) in the first regional at Plainsman Park since 2010 Friday at 6 p.m. CT.
