AUBURN, Ala. – The 2022-23 season is less than two months away, and on Monday, the Auburn women's golf team released their schedule for the upcoming campaign.
The Tigers will begin the year in Lake Elmo, Minnesota on Sept. 12-14 for the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M. This marks Auburn's first appearance in the tournament, which annually features 12 of the nation's premier teams. It began in 2014.
Auburn will also be returning to the East Lake Cup this fall after earning an invitation as one of the national semifinalists from the 2022 NCAA Championship. The Tigers will be joined by Stanford, Oregon and Texas A&M in the prestigious event at East Lake Golf Club on Oct. 24-26. They previously played in the 2019 East Lake Cup.
The remainder of the fall slate includes a familiar tournament with a return to the Mason Rudolph Championship as well as a new tournament as Auburn will travel to Medinah Country Club in October for the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah.
To begin the spring season, the Tigers will travel to the Bahamas where they will be hosting the Nexus Collegiate at Albany Golf Club.
The spring also includes return trips to the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Florida, the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Georgia. This will be the third straight year Auburn has played in the Moon Golf Invitational, hosted by former alum Anne (Hutto) Moon.
"We have a top-rated schedule that takes us to the top events with top fields," Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said. "A return to the East Lake Cup due to our excellent play at the NCAA Championship is a treat. Another highlight is hosting the Nexus Collegiate in Albany, Bahamas. This schedule will prepare us well for the post season."
The postseason will begin with the SEC Championship at Greystone G&CC in Birmingham, Alabama, on April 12-16, and then it's on to the NCAA Regional and the NCAA Championship. The NCAA Championship will return to Grayhawk GC in Scottsdale, Arizona.
