KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Auburn Men's Basketball was the recipient of the 2021-22 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, while four Tigers were selected to the NABC Honors Court as announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches on Tuesday.

The awards represent outstanding achievement in the classroom by collegiate men's basketball teams and student-athletes.

Auburn was one of only six NCAA Division I men's basketball programs along with Arizona, Colorado State, Kansas, Tennessee and Villanova to finish in the Top 25 of the final Associated Press Poll and achieve a 3.0 or higher team grade-point average during the 2021-22 season. The Tigers were also one of three SEC teams to be recognized next to UT and Vanderbilt.

The team award recognizes men's basketball programs that completed the 2021-22 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher, while the NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players, who finished the 2021-22 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Graduating senior Preston Cook, graduate senior Zep Jasper, junior Lior Berman and junior Chandler Leopard earned spots on the NABC Honors Court.

"Academic success is a core value of the NABC and a priority shared by men's basketball programs across the country," NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson said. "Excellence in the classroom requires hard work and dedication, and the NABC considers it a privilege to honor these deserving student-athletes and the coaches and staff who support them."
