AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn running Tank Bigsby and edge Derick Hall have been named to the 2022 preseason Media Days All-SEC first team, the Southeastern Conference announced Friday.

Defensive lineman Colby Wooden was named to the second team by reporters covering SEC Media Days, along with punter Oscar Chapman and placekicker Anders Carlson. Linebacker Owen Pappoe was selected to the third team.

The SEC freshman of the year in 2020, Bigsby rushed for 1,099 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2021.

In two seasons on the Plains, the 6-0, 213-pound junior has rushed for 1,933 yards and 15 touchdowns to rank No. 20 in Auburn career rushing.

Hall, a senior, registered nine sacks in 2021, including three in the Iron Bowl.  In three seasons he's recorded 12.5 sacks among 17.5 tackles for loss.

A fourth-year junior, Wooden made 61 tackles last season, including five sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss. In career 28 games, he's made nine sacks, 18.5 tackles for loss and 107 tackles.

Carlson, returning for his fifth season after recovering from knee surgery, has 67 career field goals, connecting at a 72 percent clip. He's added 151 points after touchodwns He's recorded 170 career touchbacks on kickoffs.

Chapman, a junior, ranked second in the SEC in punting in 2021, averaging 44.1 yards on 57 kicks, including 23 inside the 20-yard line.

A team captain as a junior in 2021, Pappoe battled an injury while playing in five games and recording 23 tackles. As a sophomore in 2020, he made 93 tackles, four sacks and an interception.
