NORMAN, Okla. – Auburn men's golf rising senior Alex Vogelsong was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar for his outstanding performance on the course and in the classroom, as announced by the GCAA Thursday.

The honor is the first of Vogelsong's career and the 21st earned by an Auburn golfer under head coach Nick Clinard.

"Being named an All-American Scholar means a lot to me," Vogelsong said. "I feel that I have done a nice job of balancing my life on and off the course so that I am able to attack every challenge thrown my way and come out on top. It's an honor to be recognized this year and I am proud to join the list of Auburn men who have been recognized before me."

Vogelsong finished the academic year with a 3.7 GPA, including a 3.8 GPA during the spring championship season, and averaged 72.16 shots per round. The Palm City, Florida native also picked up three top-10 finishes on the year and made birdie 103 times as one of only two players on the roster to break into triple digits.
