He was inducted into the most recent class of Auburn's Tiger Trail. Jim Dozier ran track for Wilbur Hutsell when the Tigers competed at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Mel Rosen was an assistant coach. The current track facility is named in their honor. In 1961, Dozier was one of the keys to Auburn's upset win in the SEC Championship on the Plains. Hutsell received a car…that day.

After a sterling career at Auburn, Dozier, went into the Navy and eventually flight school. He spent 31 years as a pilot for Delta Airlines. Like so many, Dozier and his wife returned to Auburn.

The Auburn story of Jim Dozier is featured in this Talking Tigers Podcast.
