AUBURN, Ala. – Nine members of the Auburn gymnastics team were named to the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Scholastic All-America team for the 2021-22 school year, the organization announced Wednesday.

Tigers earning academic recognition include Aria Brusch, Sophia Groth, Caroline Leonard, Adeline Sabados, Payton Smith, Piper Smith, Cassie Stevens, Tara Walsh and Drew Watson.

The honor is the third for Brusch, Sabados and Stevens as all three rising seniors posted a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. The award also adds to Brusch's CoSIDA Academic All-District honor earned this past school year.

Groth adds the academic honor to her already full list as a freshman in 2021-22 where she also earned All-American and All-SEC recognition for her performances on beam. Leonard, Payton Smith, Piper Smith and Watson were also first-time academic honorees.
