AUBURN, Ala. – The defending Southeastern Conference regular-season champion Auburn men's basketball team will play 14 non-conference opponents during the upcoming 2022-23 season which tips off with an exhibition game against Alabama-Huntsville on Nov. 2 at Neville Arena.
The Tigers will officially commence the season with George Mason in their home opener on Nov. 7, followed by South Florida on Nov. 11 and Winthrop on Nov. 15, as a part of a non-bracketed game of the 2022 Cancun Challenge. Georgia State is also on AU's home slate on Dec. 14.
Five opponents reached the postseason a year ago including defending SWAC champion Texas Southern (Nov. 18) and back-to-back Patriot League champion Colgate (Dec. 2). Both games to be played at Neville Arena.
Saint Louis, coming off a NIT First Round appearance, makes a return trip to the Plains on Nov. 27, while the Tigers take on Memphis in a Holiday Hoopsgiving game on Dec. 10 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Last year, UM lost to Gonzaga in the NCAA Second Round.
A two-game road swing to the West Coast pits the Tigers versus two Pac-12 Conference opponents – USC on Dec. 18 in Los Angeles and Washington on Dec. 21 in Seattle. The Trojans lost to Miami (Fla.) in the NCAA First Round.
Bradley will be Auburn's opening-round opponent at the Cancun Challenge on Nov. 22 at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Cancun, Mexico. The Tigers will then face either Northwestern or Liberty on Nov. 23 in the Riviera Division of the bracket.
Auburn will take a break from conference play to travel to West Virginia for a Big 12/SEC Challenge tilt on Jan. 28, 2023, in Morgantown, W. Va.
