BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Kendal Kemp didn't take long to make a lasting impression in an Auburn Volleyball uniform. Following an impressive weekend at the Panther Invitational, Kemp has been named SEC Co-Freshman of the week.

From Friday's first serve, it was clear Kemp was eyeing to establish a presence at the front of the net. The 6-6 middle blocker out of Eagan, Minnesota tallied up nine block assists in her first appearance in the Orange and Blue, tying the program record for most blocks in a three-set match.

Kemp's weekend was far from over, though.

In the Tiger's second game of the tournament, Kemp proved she's more than just a towering figure up front. A team-high three aces and a handful of aggressive serves forced host Georgia State out of system and were a major reason head coach Brent Crouch's squad was about to pull out three straight deuce-set wins.

A day later, Kemp piled up nine more blocks in Auburn's win over Marist, including her first two solo blocks to go along with two more aces from the service line.

In total, Kemp secured 14 kills on .250 hitting, five aces, 23 blocks and 31.5 points.

Kemp and Auburn Volleyball will be back in action on Wednesday, Aug. 31 for their home opener against Alabama State. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. CT and admission is free!
