Successful summer for Auburn women's tennis

AUBURN, Ala. – It was a busy summer for several members of the Auburn women's tennis team as they competed in multiple professional tournaments over the break.
 
Individuals for the Tigers competed in a total of 12 pro tournaments, earning a pair of titles along the way. The team also amassed a total of 270 points toward the Women's Tennis Association professional rankings.
 
Junior Ariana Arseneault and senior Carolyn Ansari teamed up to win the ITF 60K doubles title in Pelham, and they were the runners-up at the ITF 25K in Wichita, Kansas. In singles, Arseneault and Ansari each picked up a top-450 WTA win. Ansari was also a singles semifinalist at an ITF 15K in Cancun, Mexico.
 
Ansari earned 136 WTA points and Arseneault earned 131 WTA points over the summer across singles and doubles play. Both are currently ranked in the WTA top 1000. Junior Adeline Flach also earned the first WTA points of her career.
 
Incoming freshman DJ Bennett also competed over the summer. She advanced to the finals at the UTR Pro Tennis Tour event in Peachtree City, Georgia, earning a win over a top-40 ITA singles player.
 
Auburn returns five letter-winners from a stellar 2022 season that saw the Tigers post a 22-6 overall record, finish second in the SEC at 11-2 in league play, and advance to the NCAA Round of 16 for the third time in program history.
 
The Tigers will open the fall season Sept. 16-18 at the Wahoowa Invitational in Charlottesville, Virginia.
