AUBURN, Ala. – It's been a busy summer for the Auburn women's golf team with players competing in tournaments all over the world. It's been a successful summer, too. The Tigers have more than held their own against elite competition.

Megan Schofill made it all the way to championship match at the prestigious North & South Women's Amateur Championship. It's the second straight year Schofill has made it to the semifinals or farther at the event.

Casey Weidenfeld also played in the North & South, reaching the Round of 16. Weidenfeld made the Round of 16 at the Women's Western Amateur and reached the semifinals of the Florida Women's Amateur Championship in June. The redshirt freshman also qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur with a 67 (-5) in a qualifier event.

Carys Worby, who also redshirted last season, secured a victory at the Pleasington Putter, a tournament at Pleasington Golf Club in the UK. Worby shot 69-75 in the two rounds.

Incoming freshmen Rachel Gourley and Sophie Anand have each been overseas as well. The duo played in the English Girls' Open Stroke Play Championship where Gourley finished seventh and Anand was tied for 17th. They were in the same field again for the English Women's Amateur with both advancing through to match play.

Back home in Alabama, Ashley-Sinclair Curtis enjoyed a strong summer with a runner-up finish in both the Alabama Stroke Play Championship and the Alabama Women's State Amateur. She lost in the championship match of the Alabama Women's State Amateur.

Beginning Monday, Schofill and Weidenfeld will represent Auburn at the U.S. Women's Amateur – played at Chambers Bay in University Place, Washington.
