AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn junior Anastasia Astakhova tallied two singles wins during day two of the Wahoowa Invitational on Saturday. Her first win came against LSU's Shaye Longwell 6-1, 6-1 and her second win came in the afternoon against West Virginia's Pei-Ju Hsieh 6-3, 6-4.
Auburn junior Adeline Flach lost her only singles match of the day to Michaela Kucharova from West Virginia 6-3,7-6. Flach and Astakhova were partners in a doubles match against West Virginia's Ting-Pei Chang and Tatiana Lipatova but lost 6-4.
"The standard we hold ourselves to is higher and we will be better on Sunday because we are disappointed with how we performed today." said Auburn associate head coach Megan Falcon at the conclusion of play on Saturday.
The Tigers are slated to begin playing on Sunday morning at 8 a.m. CT along with players from NC State, Princeton, and Illinois.
