AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn senior Megan Schofill posts a score under par in all three rounds of the Mason Rudolph Championship to take home the individual title on Sunday. Schofill posted a 2-under 70 in her final round to finish with a three day total of 207 (-9) to win the championship by two shots over Jenny Bae from Georgia and Dorota Zalewska from Chattanooga, who both shot 7-under 209.
Auburn as a team fired an even-par 288 on Sunday to bring their three-day total to 866 (+2), good for fifth place in the field of 14. The finish marks the fourth consecutive time that the Tigers have finished in the top five of the Mason Rudolph Championship.
"So proud of Megan and her very consistent play this weekend. She went 43 holes without a bogey. I love to see talented players work hard and reap the benefits," said Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said about the individual champion. "The team played solid but had some stumbles in the final holes. A top five finish for this young team is solid."
Junior Anna Foster followed her teammate by shooting a 2-under 70 of her own on Sunday in a round that featured six birdies on her card. The round contributed to a three-day total of 220 (+4) which places her in a tie for 29th individual.
Elina Sinz shot a 1-over 73 on Sunday and finished at 218 (+2) for the tournament for a 27th place finish individually. Casey Weidenfeld fired a 3-over 75 that featured an eagle on the final hole. She finished in a tie for 38th place individually at 7-over (223).
Up next, the Tigers will travel to Medinah, Ill. for the Illini Women's Invitational on October 10-11.
