Auburn, Ala. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association named Selin Ovunc, Ariana Arseneault and Carolyn Ansari to its Top 125 national women's singles rankings this week. Additionally, the doubles team of Selin Ovunc and Ariana Arseneault was ranked in the ITA's Top 60 national women's doubles rankings.
Ovunc claimed the highest ranking on the team at 29th. Arseneault, who sported a team best 29-9 singles record last season, was ranked 61st in the poll. Ansari, who had a 29-11 overall record during the 2021-22 season, was placed at 91st in the rankings.
Ovunc and Arseneault were also featured in the ITA's national doubles rankings as the Auburn team was ranked 4th. The doubles team posted an 18-7 overall record last season, including a 9-1 record in SEC play.
"Preseason rankings are a culmination of a tremendous amount of work and serve as a starting place for the season ahead," said head coach Caroline Lilley. "As we strive for incremental improvements on the practice court, we relish the opportunity to be considered amongst the elite of college tennis. We are proud of our entire team as we know the commitment they make to excellence requires significant sacrifice. We will never be satisfied as there is always more growth to pursue as we fall in love with the process."
The Auburn women's tennis team will kick off their fall schedule September 16-18 at the Wahoowa Invitational in Charlottesville, Va.
