Auburn head women's golf coach Melissa Luellen has signed a five-year contract extension that will keep her on the Plains through the 2026-27 season.

"I want to thank Auburn Athletics for their continued dedication to the golf programs," Luellen said. "I am honored and thrilled to be the head coach at Auburn.  We continue to build excellence in our golf program, and I am excited about the future."

Since taking over as head coach in 2015, Luellen has led Auburn to four NCAA Championship appearances and made the match play portion in each of the last three trips. Twice, in 2019 and 2022, the Tigers made the Final Four and finished as national semifinalists. In 2021, Auburn captured the 10th SEC championship in program history and first under Luellen.

As she enters her 23rd season as a head coach, Luellen has coached a total of 21 All-Americans and made 18 NCAA Championship appearances all-time. She's previously coached at Arizona State, where she won a national championship in 2009, and at Tulsa, her alma mater.

The Auburn women's golf team is set to begin their 2022-23 campaign, Luellen's eight season with the program, on Sept. 12 at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.
