AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn senior Carolyn Ansari, who is the one seed in the prequalifying round, came out victorious Saturday morning over Oklahoma's Dana Guzman 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-4.
"Carolyn grew in her match today. Her opponent gave her very little and was constantly mixing up the pace," said Auburn associate head coach Megan Falcon. "Her composure improved as the match progressed and her court positioning resulted in many aggressive opportunities. Tennis is a game for those who like puzzles and a chess match with no clock."
On Sunday morning, Ansari will take on Anastasiya Komar from conference foe LSU at 8 a.m. CT in her next match of the prequalifying round.
Junior Ariana Arseneault will play her first match during the qualifying round, which will start Monday.
