MEDINAH, Ill. – A final round team score of 10-under (278) helped propel Auburn to a runner-up finish and break the 54-hole program record in the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah on Tuesday.

The Tigers posted a three-round total of 835 (-29) to set a new school record for a 54-hole score, which is three strokes clear of the previous record of 838 (-26) that was set at the 2021 SEC Championship. Auburn finished five shots behind tournament champion Kentucky, five shots ahead of rival Georgia, eight shots clear of rival Alabama and 17 strokes ahead of conference foe Tennessee.

"Very proud of our young team to fight hard to have a chance to win. Second place in a strong field is a great confidence builder for this squad," Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said after the final round. "Megan [Schofill] didn't have her best stuff today but still scored well. Casey [Weidenfeld] came through in the clutch. She was very excited to play today and made a great contribution with her new career-record 68. Records are made to be broken- many small wins for each player!"

Auburn senior Megan Schofill followed up her career low round of 65 in round two with a 4-under 68 on Tuesday. Her three-round total of 205 (-11), which tied her career low, secured her second straight top five and her third straight top 10 individual finish as she tied for fourth in the field of 84.

Redshirt freshman Casey Weidenfeld followed her teammate with a 68 (-4) of her own on Tuesday in a round that featured six birdies. Tuesday's round is Weidenfeld's new career-low, breaking her previous record of 69 that was set during round one. The Pembroke Pines, Fla. native finished at 8-under (208) for the tournament, which is also a career low and placed her in a tie for 11th.

Junior Anna Foster fired a 1-under 71 in her final round to bring her three-round total to 210 (-6), which led to a tie for 16th individually and her best finish of the season.

Elina Sinz mirrored Foster with a 1-under 71 of her own on Tuesday and finished with a 54-hole total of 215 (-1) and placed her in a tie for 35th individually.
